Festival "Ballet Planet"

This summer, a festival of classic ballets will take to the stage in Russia's 2 capitals: Moscow and St. Petersburg.


Audiences in Moscow can see more than 13 classic productions of such ballets as: Swan Lake and The Nutcracker.

Productions will be performed by the Moscow State Russian Ballet Theatre under the direction of People's Artist of the USSR Vyacheslav Gordeev with the Moscow Philharmonic under the direction of People's Artist of Russia Maxim Dunayevsky.

The Moscow State Russian Ballet Theatre has brought joy to the people of Russia and the world for more than 30 years with its creative work. The creative life of the theatre began in 1984 with the modest Molodoy Balet (Young Ballet) ensemble, under an outstanding dancer, the Bolshoi's premier, People's Artist of the USSR Vyacheslav Gordeev.

Today, the Russian Ballet Theatre troupe includes more than 70 dancers. These include renowned artists, and participants and winners of international ballet competitions. Anna Shcherbakova, Yulia Zvyagina, Dmitry Kothermin, Maxim Fomin and Vladimir Mineev shine on the stage.

In Russia, the Russian Ballet Theatre was awarded the prestigious national award named after Fyodor Volkov – the founder of Russian Theatre.
